About last night: Hollywood’s poster boy, Leo, finally bagged himself an Oscar at the 88th Academy Awards *sigh*. The secret to his success? Well, apart from his reputed acting skills and charming looks, he did fight a grizzly bear, drink some bison blood and grow himself a not-so-good-looking beard. We’re happy-close-to-ecstatic that Leo got himself the gold, BUT we’ll admit that Eddie was brilliant in Danish Girl and looked way hotter on the red carpet. Come on, you know he did- admit it!
While the world cheers on the award-winners, we thought it’d be a good idea to raise our glasses and dish out make-believe Oscars to the most stylish women and men from last night’s nominees list. And you get to be the judges!
Apart from their drop-dead-gorgeous looks, these ladies definitely have one more thing in common- their dreamy side trails. While we love Brie Larson’s deep blue gown, its Cate Blanchett’s light blue, floral embellished gown that has her looking ethereal (doesn’t she always!). But the slayer last night was J-Law in her lacy Dior number and her sleek new lob. What say you- yay or nay?
White shirt. Check. Black bow-tie. Check. Black suit. Check. Needless to say, our leading men for the night definitely got the same memo when it came to the dresscode. Hmmm… do we have to choose? They all look so dapper and HOT (read: we cannot resist men in suits). Oh well, we’ll place our bets on Eddie for bringing some swagger and class to the red carpet in his Alexander McQueen velvet suit. And those loafers… nice touch Eddie. Which handsome hunk has you dreaming?
Best Supporting Actress
Is it just us or do you think these ladies nailed their red carpet style? For one, Alicia Vikander was definitely the belle of the night in her buttery yellow Louis Vuitton gown. However, its Rooney Mara’s white Givenchy Couture gown and on-fleek make up (note the lip colour) that makes for a decidedly elegant choice. Who would you choose? Snow White or Belle?
Best Supporting Actor
Looks like the best supporting actor nominees stole the men’s sartorial show for the night too. While Christian Bale worked his on red-carpet Batman look in an all black ensemble, it was Mark Ruffalo’s blue Valentino suit that made a bold statement. And that salt pepper hair works like a charm*wink*.
Best Oscar Newbie
You really didn’t think that we could ignore the fact that Piggy Chops was at the Oscar’s presenting! While she made the Twitterati’s crazy wondering who she was, we sat back, munched on our popcorn and felt so-so proud to see her air-kissing with Hollywood’s most talented lot. And that lacy-white-nude Zuhair Murad gown- she nailed it with class and elegance! Waah, waah, kya baat hai!
