Another stellar fashion week closes in on us- London Fashion Week! And another spectacular lot of autumn-winter trends for the world to dive into! After treating our eyes to a montage of quirky, off-the-beat styles on the ramp, the celebrity in us wishes we could have ‘em all!!
But post a quick reality check and a deep sigh, we move on to giving you the good news! We’ve done our part of scouring through fascinating displays from London Fashion Week AW 16-17 and here’s a list of styles that shot up our excitement!
Scroll through and prepare to be WOWed:
Trends in the Making
Advise of the day: Hold your breaths, tick the date and start saving up!
Coz we’re sure to see at least a few of these Autumn-Winter styles catch up like wildfire!
The head-turning and impactful styles we spotted: Beetle-juice inspired gothic romance by Sophia Webster, raw beauty infused granny chic by Cristopher Kane, the concoction of ‘sheer delight’ and ‘fluid, day-dreamy designs’ by Alexander McQueen and the pop-the-glitter ‘disco meets Crayola’ creations by Ashish! Let’s just say WEIRD IS SO SO IN! And we can’t curb our enthusiasm about it!!
Pac-Man Inspired Rad Bags
If you’ve got a “weird and wacky” contest to win, with this slung by your side, you’ll stand out for your effortless wacky style charged up with a cool sense of humour. You have our word for it! Apart from being a retro gamer’s delight, these pac-man and space-invader inspired bags from Anya Hindmarch are functional and fun with the right pinch of tongue-in-cheek!
Out-of-the Box Jewels
Fit in? Nope, we’re not the ones to try and blend in! And believe it or not, the talented designers of London Fashion Week knew just what we mean! Cristopher Kane’s modern punk jewellery, Alexander McQueen’s chained broaches, mismatched, asymmetrical earrings from Topshop Unique and the artistically designed grapevine necklace from Paul Smith all corroborate that!
Shoes to Die For
We love us some fancy shoes!! And London Fashion Week demonstrated blinding ‘sparks of quirk’ in this department. However, the stand-out ones that had our eyes glued were the two-toned pumps with bead embroidery from J.W. Anderson, feather sandals from Alexander McQueen, irresistible fox toe and heel-trimmed booties from Eudon Choi and the rockstar glittery heels from Mary Kratantzou. The best part is, all these shoes showcased a brilliant twist on styles we’re already familiar with! So we can simply skip the adjusting and start strutting right away!
Beauty with a Dramatic Vibe: Colour, Glitter and Graphic
“Life without drama is like TV without colour: boring”, said somebody wise and we concur!
The London Fashion Week gave us some wild ‘eureka’ moments on the beauty front. We realized we could do so much more with basic glitter, eye-liner, metallic foils and lipstick! And about the neon ‘under the eyes’ shade, how can we possibly miss that?!
All in all, London Fashion Week was majorly inspiring with its idiosyncratic designs and gave us interesting styling takeaways, besides lending us a quick peek into hot up-and-coming trends.
Which ones are you all geared up to add into your wardrobe soon?
And hey! Don’t forget to show us some love with comments and shares too!
With that, we’re signing off for the day! See ya soon!
